Top 2027 Catcher Janie Goldin Chooses Oklahoma State, Citing Family Culture and Championship Standards

Go Pokes! 🧡🖤 Thank you to my family, coaches, teammates, and most importantly the Lord, for helping me make this dream a reality! Can’t wait to be a cowgirl! 🤠 @cowgirlsb @OSUcoachG @Coach_Shippy @bergy_9 @carrieeberle @Impact_Taylor08 @SoftbalAmerica @LineDsoftball… pic.twitter.com/nIaw4hHhlY

Janie Goldin Commits to the Cowgirls

Janie Goldin, a class of 2027 catcher from Buford, Georgia, announced her verbal commitment today to the Oklahoma State Cowgirls softball program. Goldin, ranked as the number one catcher in the 2027 class by Extra Inning Softball and the number two overall player by Prep Softball, is a PGF All-American and a multi-sport athlete for the Buford Wolves.

This season, Goldin has been electric at the top of the lineup, hitting .534 while batting leadoff. She’s also a major threat on the bases, swiping 35 bags so far and helping Buford maintain an undefeated 28-0 record heading into the postseason.

I caught up with Janie for a quick comment after her announcement and asked what made Oklahoma State the right fit for her future.

“I chose Oklahoma State because I can compete at the top level while surrounded by a culture that feels like family,” Goldin said. “Oklahoma State won’t only challenge me to become a better player, but a better person as well.”

Having spoken with Coach Kenny Gajewski and former players myself, it’s easy to understand the appeal of the Cowgirls program. The family-like culture is real, and the on-field success speaks for itself. Oklahoma State has reached Oklahoma City five of the last six full seasons and continues to raise the bar for consistency at the highest level of the game.

Goldin’s commitment adds another major name to a solid 2027 class for the Cowgirls, and it’s safe to say that Stillwater just gained one of the nation’s most complete young catchers.
