Bryli Seifert to Baton Rouge

“Callin’ Baton Rouge.” That is exactly what Bryli Seifert from Platte City, Missouri is doing. The 2027 middle infielder committed to the LSU Tigers last week, and I had the chance to connect with her through a quick Q&A.

Softball is a game that means so much to so many, and when young players begin to see their dreams come true, it is a special time. It is also a moment for reflection on the journey that has brought them this far.

Bryli was kind enough to respond with thoughtful, genuine answers that give us a glimpse into her story and her future as an LSU Tiger.

Finding a Love for the Game

Softball is more than a game to a lot of people, and most start out young. Finding genuine connections and making great experiences play a big role in capturing the heart. For Bryli Seifert, it was no different.

“Softball became more than just a game for me when I joined SWAT about six years ago, said Seifert. The girls and coaches I met there made such a big impact on me, and all of those friendships are still a big part of my life today. That’s when I realized it wasn’t just about playing, it was about the people and the experiences that come with it that made me better.”

Support System and Dedication

Many athletes are influenced by coaches, teachers, or someone outside the family. But when you have the blessing of sharing the journey closely with family, it becomes even more meaningful and creates memories you will never forget.

“My uncle, Brent Seifert, has definitely been the most influential person in my journey. He played baseball at Iowa Western and Missouri State, and he’s been my hitting coach for about five years now. I can ask him anything and he always has an answer. I always joke that he’s my hitting coach and my therapist at the same time, because he’s always there with an answer.”

The hard work Bryli has put in, along with the guidance from her uncle, is beginning to show its rewards. Still, the journey is only just starting, and it serves as a reminder that all of the effort is worth it. There is much more ahead.

“It honestly means so much. I’ve put in a lot of work when no one’s watching, but I’ve also had my family and coaches supporting me the whole way. So being able to go out on the field and see all of that hard work pay off, not just mine but theirs too, it’s the best feeling. It makes every early morning and late night worth it.”

“I love the game, so I believe that putting my time and effort into getting better has never really been something I don’t want to do. I know there’s always more I can improve on, and that mindset keeps me grounded and motivated every day,” said Bryli Seifert.

Why LSU

When it comes to choosing a college, every athlete has their own reasons. For some it is the coaches, for others it is teammates or connections through travel ball. Often, it is the culture that makes the biggest difference, speaking to you on a level that goes deeper than the surface.

LSU is one of the premier programs in the country, and it checked every box for Seifert.

“Everything about it felt right: the coaches, the atmosphere, and the culture. The facilities are incredible, but the people and the energy of the program really stood out. It was exactly what I was looking for in a school and a softball program. When I decided I wanted to commit to be a tiger, I immediately felt a sigh of relief because I felt they wanted me a part of the program as much as I wanted to be.”

Looking Ahead

As her dreams continue to take shape, Seifert looks ahead to what she hopes to accomplish as an LSU Tiger, both on and off the field.

“My goal is to become an All-American and help my team make it to the WCWS. I hope to leave a mark by inspiring little girls that it is possible to live out their dreams.”
