“With 12 stars off to the World Games, Kowalik, Willis, and Falby will lead three-team showdown in Illinois”
Today, Athletes Unlimited Softball announced some details for the second series of the All-Star Cup, which is set to take place in Rosemont, Illinois beginning August 19 at 8 PM ET.
One major difference for this series will be the amount of teams, as there will only be three. Due to 12 players participating at the World Games in Chengdu, China, the league will be a bit shorthanded for that series.
These 12 will be taking care of their national commitments: Rachel Garcia (USA), Megan Faraimo (USA), Hannah Flippen (USA), Sahvanna Jaquish (USA), Tiare Jennings (USA), Lexi Kilfoyl (USA), Aubrey Leach (USA), Amanda Lorenz (USA), Dejah Mulipola (USA), Bubba Nickles-Camarena (USA), Aleshia Ocasio (Puerto Rico), and Jessi Warren (USA).
So, the three captains for Series Two are Kayla Kowalik (380 points), Sarah Willis (350 points), and Kendra Falby (330 points). All three players had great weekends in Holly Springs, NC, and put up astounding performances.
Falby debuted as a professional softball player Saturday and went 2-for-3 with an RBI. That RBI was the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth inning. That amazing debut earned her MVP 1 honors for the game, and the transition to professional softball looks to be pretty seamless so far. Seems to be a Florida thing lol.
The three captains will select their teammates for Series Two on August 12. As it was for Series One, you can check AUSL social media and website to see who will be chosen to what team.
