2027 RHP/1B Zoie Shiflett Commits to Coastal Carolina, Eyes State Title with the Cartersville Lady Canes
Zoie Shiflett Commits to the Chanticleers
Coach Kelley Green and the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers have landed another talented 2027 commitment. Zoie Shiflett, a 6-foot-2 right-handed pitcher and first baseman from Cartersville High School in Cartersville, Georgia, took time to talk about her journey and commitment.
Shiflett also spoke about her current season with the Cartersville Lady Canes. She has hit .409 with eight home runs and 34 RBIs. In the circle, she has posted a 15-3 record with 134 strikeouts, only 19 walks, and a 1.29 ERA. (Stats via MaxPreps)
When asked about Coastal and the connection she built with the staff, Shiflett shared how it was an immediate connection.
“Ever since I visited campus, I knew it was my home. The coaches were so approachable and I felt like I could be myself around them. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to live out my dream of playing Division I softball at Coastal Carolina.”
She also spoke about what made the school feel like the right fit, and I admit that it would be hard to turn away from that environment.
“My favorite part about the school is the atmosphere and how everyone supports each other on and off the field. Being next to the beach will be so much fun too!”
As a strong two-way player, Shiflett shared how her versatility has helped shape her game.
“Being a two-way player helps me anticipate what the batter or pitcher might do next. When I’m hitting or pitching, I try to think about what I would do if I were facing myself.”
She gave credit to her EC Bullets Gold Schnute/Bilz 18u travel coaches for their impact on her development and recruiting process.
“I couldn’t have done any of this without the countless hours from my travel coaches, Coach Jessica and Coach Ally. They worked so hard behind the scenes to set me up to have success during this entire recruiting process.”
Zoie and the Cartersville Lady Canes are still in pursuit of some nice hardware in the state of Georgia. I asked Shiflett about that, as it would help cap off a great year for her.
“Next week, my high school team will be on our way to Columbus, Georgia for the Elite 8. We have been setting school records all year long and hope to continue with bringing home the first state championship.”
Congratulations to Zoie Shiflett on her commitment to Coastal Carolina, and good luck on everything going forward!
