Talons’ Corrick and Jacobsen Claim AUSL Series 4 Honors
As we are into the break of the AUSL season, the Series 4 standouts were announced yesterday, and the Talons were responsible for both.
Georgina Corrick brought in the AUSL Series 4 Pitcher of the Series. Corrick was lights out in the AUSL’s first complete game shutout by any pitcher last Saturday. She struck out seven and only gave up three hits. The former USF legend has made her presence felt quickly and should be a dominant force in the circle for some time to come. Corrick is currently 3-0 with an opponent batting average of .159 in 13 innings of work.
Caroline Jacobsen garnered the AUSL Series 4 Player of the Series. Jacobsen has quietly put together a solid season so far, and last series she continued by batting .357 with six RBIs and two runs scored. Her hitting streak currently stands at eight. In 12 games played, Jacobsen is swinging a consistent stick with a .405/.500/.568 slash line. She is also just behind Hannah Flippen in hits with 15, and RBIs with 10 on the season.
Action for the Athletes Unlimited Softball League will crank back up on July 7-9. All four teams will be in Rosemont, Illinois, and will play doubleheaders each day.
