No. 1 Lady Vols Erase 4-0 Deficit, Leach Sisters Homer in 11-6 Win Over LSU

Lackey, originally from Oliver Springs, Tennessee, has chosen to continue her softball career at Chattanooga.

The rising sophomore outfielder saw action in 39 games for the Gamecocks in 2025, mostly as a pinch-runner, scoring 16 runs.

Lackey will undoubtedly bring great talent and a readiness to go in Coach Frank Reed’s Chattanooga program. Prior to signing with South Carolina, Lackey played travel ball for the Tennessee Mojo organization and was ranked as the 37th overall player by Extra Inning Softball.

Decisions on where to play often go deeper than just what you can do on the field. I had a chance to catch up with Chloe today, and it was immediately clear this was a well thought-out decision.

“I chose Chattanooga because it just felt right. Throughout my time spent in the portal, I prayed a lot for God to guide me into making the right decision. When I took my visit, met the coaches, and got to know them a little more, it was a no-brainer for me. The campus was very impressive as well as how important academics were to them. It was very important to me in this process that I found a program and a coaching staff that believes in me, and I’m very confident I have found that.”

Chattanooga has long been a premier program in the Southern Conference, with 16 all-time regular season and tournament championships. It is a great program to play for, located just down I-75 from Lackey’s hometown, something she is excited about.

“I am very excited to play closer to home. Having such a supportive family means the world to me, and it definitely makes it easier for them to visit.”

Lackey is very grateful for the opportunity and is ready to be a Chattanooga Moc.

“This opportunity is just incredibly special to me, and I’m very thankful to Coach Reed, Coach Scottie, Coach Camp, and Coach Greg for giving me a new home.”
