Binford Selected to AUSL Blaze from Reserve Pool
Former Baylor Bear and Ole Miss Rebel two-way player Aliyah Binford has been selected from the Reserve Pool to join the AUSL Blaze.
Binford wrapped up a remarkable collegiate career this past season with the Rebels, helping lead Ole Miss to the Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City. The Rebels punched their ticket to OKC after taking down Arkansas in the Fayetteville Super Regional.
In her final season, Binford was a force on both sides of the ball. She hit .320 with 12 home runs, 55 RBIs, and 36 runs scored. In the circle, she tossed 122.1 innings and struck out 88 batters, finishing with an 11-5 record and four saves.
Her strong showing earned her NFCA All-South Region honors and a spot on the WCWS All-Tournament Team.
The Blaze return to action on Monday, July 7 in Rosemont, Illinois, where they will face the Talons at 9:30 PM EDT and 8:30 PM CT. I myself will be in attendance to bring live updates and details of the series.
